Technical Overview

The axial flow non-slam check valve uses a spring-loaded, centrally guided poppet that moves axially within the flow path. The spring begins closing the poppet before forward flow velocity reaches zero, ensuring that the valve is fully closed when flow direction reverses. This pre-closure mechanism is the only reliable method of completely eliminating water hammer and reverse flow transients in high-energy pipeline systems.

VALVAX axial flow non-slam checks are designed to API 6D and are particularly suited to gas compressor discharge, pump discharge in high-pressure liquid hydrocarbon service, and pipeline pig-receiving applications. The streamlined axial flow path delivers pressure drop performance comparable to a fully open gate valve.
